If A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words, Then This Mitt Romney Classic Is Worth Even More Than He Is

“Vote For Me Or The Mormon Gets It!”

Sidney Barthwell might be the most interesting man in the world you’ve never heard of. He doesn’t always drink beer, and when he does, he probably doesn’t even prefer Dos Equis.

He also doesn’t always discuss which fellow classmate and future famous presidential candidate he shared a classroom with, but when he does, he prefers Barack Obama.

“When they debate, Barack will smoke Romney,” Sidney Barthwell, a district court magistrate in Michigan who attended boarding school with Romney and Harvard Law School with Obama, told The Daily.

“Mitt Romney is smart,” he said. “Having said all that, I still think he’s going to get smoked. The best he can do is hopefully come out not looking like a fool. Mitt will find out the hard way as soon as they have their first debate: You don’t debate Obama.”

Oooooh, so that’s why Mitt is smiling and pointing a gun to his jaw! Silly me, I thought that was simply a visual representation of his plan for how to deal with those pesky poors.

Barthwell, the only black member of Romney’s 1965 class at Cranbrook Schools, met Obama at Harvard Law, where both joined the Black Law Student Association and pushed for greater diversity among the faculty together.

Barthwell said he has “tremendous respect” for both men. But Obama made a more striking impression.

“It’s Harvard Law School, so you’re not surprised if someone ends up doing something impressive. But even there, it was clear he was brilliant,” Barthwell said of Obama.

Shhhhhh! Don’t you see, Mitt’s gotta gun and he’s not afraid to use it??

Meanwhile, at Cranbrook, the prestigious boarding school in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., Barthwell said Romney, while clearly smart, was far from a standout.

“Mitt was not particularly popular. He was very, very ordinary. He was an average Cranbrook student. He was not an athlete, he was not a student leader, he was not a scholar. The thing that separated Mitt there was that his father was the governor of Michigan.”

Your basic, ho-hum, not-so-special, undistinguished white kid from wealth and privilege? How does he not deserve to be President? Hell, Dubya did it, and average would have been light years better than whatever the hell he was!

He declined to say whom he is planning on voting for in November because of his position as a magistrate. But Barthwell said that watching Romney shift to the right during the GOP primary was bizarre.

“Mitt’s a very — he wouldn’t want me to say this — he’s a liberal-minded person. His father was a social liberal, almost a civil rights champion,” Barthwell said, referring to former Michigan Gov. George Romney, who famously walked out of the 1964 Republican convention to protest the party’s turn to the right on racial segregation.

“People like me who know Mitt are sort of baffled about how he comes off on the trail.”

C’mon, for an elitist asshole, he’s not that bad.

“With Barack, what you see is what you get. He comes across as a warm, concerned, hard-working, friendly, nice, humanistic and compassionate individual, and that’s what he is. He doesn’t have a problem portraying that. Mitt, on the other hand, who is also these things, does.”

Whatever do you mean? He’s right on target!

A gun to the head is exactly how the rest of America feels when they think about a Romney presidency.

“Hey Man, Nice Shot!”
